The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has released the official lists of San Juan City local candidates for the coming 2013 local elections.

Local elections will be held in the City of San Juan on May 13, 2013 within the Philippine general election. The voters will elect for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, congressman (or district representative), and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts.

Guia G. Gomez, mother of former President Joseph Estrada son’s Jose Victor “JV” Ejercito is seeking re-election as mayor under the United Nationalist Alliance. Her running mate is incumbent Vice-Mayor Francisco Javier M. Zamora, who is running unopposed. Gomez will be contested by Kapatiran Party candidate Glenn Angeles and independent candidate Eduardo San Pascual.

For congressional seat, it’s a race between Jana Ejercito (NPC) and Ronny Zamora of Partido Magdiwang.

San Juan is one of the cities that comprises the National Capital Region of the Philippines. It is the smallest city in the region and the country in terms of land area. Other tourist attractions in San Juan City are Club Filipino, Monuments of Andres Bonifacio & Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Pinaglabanan Shrine, Spirit of 1896 Monument, and St. John the Baptist Church.
